Dr. Strangelove (1964)
Pretty funny, we hope.
Summary:
This is a pretty funny satire even for 1964. It has the DNA of future Naked Gun performances with slapstick exaggerated mannerisms but more subtle execution overall. Can be enjoyed even today. But being raved as one of the best films of all time is a huge stretch. You could very well go your entire life not watching this film and not be missing out on anything. Itโs just okay by Kubrickโs standards. Short, funny, sweet and even pretty light compared to the more serious tone of Paths of Glory. I prefer this one.
