Realities of a broken education system.

Presentation:

If you wanted to watch an indie film with high profile actors, this psychological drama might be worth taking a look. This is an original film with complex topics of teachers dealing with the most troubled students. What unfolds is a tragic and futile story about the education system unlike any other experience as a result of its riveting storytelling style. The film utilizes low quality picture but cerebral lensing to capture dialogue. It is almost like a Jerry Springer Show in how close the camera gets into the actorโ€™s faces while they uncomfortably yell and break us down. The film breaks the fourth wall with a sense of intimate realism and desperation that I havenโ€™t felt from many other films. Adrien Brody is fantastic and so are all the other troubled students.

Conclusion:

There is a certain truth and hard hitting reality that is hard to describe. Although I watched it at a time when I couldnโ€™t relate, I now have fond memories of this unique experience. It may be overdramatic and mawkish at times, but there really are some classes that are like this. You may hate school, but at least you can respect the teachers because itโ€™s an impossible job. One of the most unique films of the decade.
